The Work

This is one piece of a series of four watercolours the artist painted for her granddaughter, at her request. I purchased these from the granddaughter through Facebook Marketplace, as she was changing the aesthetic of her home and no longer wanted them. A skilfully painted watercolour depicting a geisha, from a set of four that are symbolic of the four seasons.

Framing

All four pieces are framed in a champagne bamboo design frame with eight-ply matting and UltraView museum glass. The frames were selected to harmonize with the soft, feminine, and serene feel of the Magnolia room.

About Gladys Fedrick

Gladys Fedrick née Blundell, a prolific illustrator, was known for her delicate and detailed watercolors. Later in life, she remarried and became Gladys Fedrick. Her work demonstrates elegance, finesse, and an enduring sense of style, making her illustrations highly collectible.
