Framing

It's framed in Black Wattle from my native timber range, now available through Dawsons Handcrafted on the Gold Coast, float mounted to preserve the natural deckled edges of the paper and avoid visually cutting off any part of the work.

About Svetlana Trefilova

Svetlana Trefilova is a Brisbane-based artist of Russian-Ukrainian origin, working across abstract painting, expressive landscape, and studies of the microscopic structures of Australian native plants. She completed her Master of Arts in Visual Arts with Honours at the Queensland College of Art, Griffith University, in 2014, and later returned to complete a Doctor of Visual Arts at QCA, researching collaborative practices between art and science and the visible and hidden aspects of the natural world. She works largely in her own "Watery Painting" technique, using acrylic paints and inks, and is a member of the Brisbane Institute of Art and the Royal Queensland Art Society. She has held at least one solo exhibition annually since 2011, with her work collected across Australia and overseas.
