Provenance

I acquired The Duchess from an exhibition held in a small country gallery in the Toowoomba area. When I saw the painting, its elegance, form, and mood instantly struck me. It felt like something that could elevate even a small decorative space in the home.

The work is signed lower right and comes with the artist's certificate of authenticity.

About Raffaella Picotti

Raffaella Picotti is a Queensland-based artist originally from Rome, Italy. She studied graphic design at the Institute of Fine Arts in Rome, gaining an Advanced Diploma / Graduate Certificate. Her early career included work for publishing and advertising agencies, technical illustration, and designs informed by her European training. Since relocating to Australia, Picotti's art has embraced animals, flora, and wildlife — particularly cats — often rendered in classical or ornate styles with roots in romanticism and Flemish tradition. Her work combines photorealist detail with decorative flourish.
