Provenance

I've admired Jeraldine's work for a long time. I first came across it in a framing shop I worked at, when a customer brought a piece of hers in, and later saw more of her etchings at a gallery in Bangalow.

I purchased this piece, along with a couple of others, from a Half Dozen Group exhibition — long before I opened ARTIS PURA.

Framing

It's framed in Queensland Maple from my native timber range, now carried on by Scott Dawson Handcrafted on the Gold Coast, paired with rag matting with hand-applied French line work and UltraVue glass.

About Jeraldine Just

Jeraldine Just is a Brisbane printmaker known for her intaglio printmaking and etching work. She studied intaglio printmaking — a technique where the image is incised into a plate — at the Brisbane Institute of Art under instructor Wim de Vos. She is the daughter of Verlie Just OAM, the celebrated Brisbane gallerist who ran the Verlie Just Town Gallery and Japan Room from 1973 until her death in 2000, representing generations of Australian and Japanese artists and remaining a much-loved figure in the Brisbane art world.
